Happy National Pumpkin Day!
As some of you may know, today is National Pumpkin Day! The one day a year were everyone celebrates all things pumpkin..... As if! If Starbucks has taught us anything it's that pumpkins are meant to be celebrated all season long and in many shapes and forms! We at K2K Events are firm believers in this school of thought and are so happy that pumpkins are shared, decorated, eaten, and even chunked more than one day a year! --> We're serious about the pumpkin chunkin', check it out here!
Anyways, since today is the OFFICIAL day of the pumpkin, we want to share with you how you can incorporate pumpkins into any upcoming fall event or wedding! Surprisingly, pumpkins are a lot more versatile than you would think and can even fit into any color pallet inspiration. Which means, no matter what your event design may be.. there may just be room for pumpkins!
To help show you how, we have broken down FIVE easy ways to incorporate pumpkins into your next fall event or wedding!
Sweet Pumpkin Aisle Decor
Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on flower arrangements to line your center aisle, why not incorporate stacks of pumpkins? This is an easy way to help trim your decor budget by adding in, not only a unique salute to fall, but amazing new elements of TEXTURE and DEPTH!
If you’re getting married closer to sunset you could even incorporate lanterns alongside your pumpkins to help create a more romantic ambiance OR if you're feeling really crafty you could try punching some holes into your pumpkins to give a sophisticated jack-o-lantern look all while giving your ceremony unique mood lighting.
Petite Place Cards
Small petite pumpkins would be great for your guests place cards because they have a little weight (which means they wont fly away) AND they can be used as a charming little gift for your guests to take home! This is a great alternative to the traditional business card place cards and can really add a nice pop of color or style to your guests tables!
Festive Center Pieces
Instead of renting or buying vases you will never use again try switching them out for a festive pumpkin! You could actually fill your pumpkin full of flowers or just sprinkle a few around your main centerpiece to add that needed touch of fall in a creative and tasteful way. This will not only help you cut down on your rental costs but they can even be taken home by guests at the end of the night! --> Believe it or not this is a custom most guests LOVE but can rarely do, since all the vases are typically rented.
Delicate Candle Holder
WARNING: DIY/Crafty Brides ONLY!
This tip may be a little extra work but in the end it would be so worth it! You can never have enough candles at a wedding and instead of using your typical votives try throwing in a touch of pumpkin. This adds a simple seasonal touch without being overpowering to your overall table design.
Fun Cake Décor/Cake Topper
Wedding cakes are a special long standing tradition and one that has been slowly moving 'out-of-the-box' in recent years! So, why not incorporate your fall inspirations onto your reception centerpiece? Ask your baker to include pumpkin in your cake whether in the decoration or flavor! You can go with the literal pumpkin cake like below or only involve simple touches like a cake topper.
If you decide to incorporate our round little pumpkin treasures into your upcoming wedding or event don't forget that you can make a great date out of going to the pumpkin patch to pick out your pumpkins! This could also be a great spot to capture your love of all things fall and pumpkins through you engagement session! Man, pumpkins just keep on giving and giving!!
Well, that’s it for me! I’m officially off to eat some pumpkin pie to celebrate! I hope you enjoyed our five tips to incorporate pumpkins into your special day and we look forward to continuing to inspire your next event!
